Adapted from Tony Robbins & Cameron Herold

This framework draws on visualization principles from Tony Robbins and Cameron Herold's Vivid Vision methodology.

How This Works

You're going to write a detailed description of your life exactly 3 years from today. Not what you hope for — what IS, as if you're already there.

Key principles:

  1. Write in present tense — "I am..." not "I will be..."
  2. Be specific — Details make it real
  3. Include emotions — How do you feel?
  4. Describe all dimensions — Work, relationships, health, wealth, meaning
  5. Make it vivid — If you can't see it, you can't build it

This is not fantasy. It's clarity. The more clearly you can describe where you're going, the more likely you are to recognize the path when it appears.

Before You Begin

Close your eyes. Take five deep breaths.

Imagine it's exactly 3 years from today. You wake up. Everything you've worked for has come together. You are living your ideal life — not someone else's idea of success, but yours.

Now open your eyes and describe it.

Part 1: The Morning

It's [DATE 3 YEARS FROM NOW]. You wake up in...

Where you live:

Describe your home. Where is it? What does it look like? What do you see when you open your eyes?

How you start your day:

What is your morning like? What rituals ground you? How do you feel?

Who is there:

Who do you wake up next to? Who is in your home? Describe the relationships in your daily life.

Part 2: The Work

You spend your days...

What you do:

What does your work look like? What problems do you solve? What impact do you make?

How you work:

Where do you work? How many hours? What's your energy like? How do you structure your time?

Who you work with:

Describe your team, partners, or colleagues. What kind of people surround you?

The impact:

What results has your work created? What have you built? What exists because of you?

Part 3: The Relationships

The people in your life...

Partner/Spouse:

Family:

Friendships:

Community:

Part 4: The Health

Your body and mind...

Physical health:

Energy and vitality:

Mental and emotional health:

Part 5: The Wealth

Your financial life...

Income and assets:

Financial freedom:

Generosity:

Part 6: The Growth

You have become someone who...

Skills and capabilities:

Character and wisdom:

Legacy and meaning:

Part 7: The Feeling

When you step back and look at your life, you feel...

The Complete Vision

Combine the above into a single, flowing narrative. This is your Vivid Vision — read it monthly to stay oriented.

How to Use This

  1. Read monthly — Spend 10 minutes once a month reading this vision aloud
  2. Refine annually — Each year, update and sharpen the details
  3. Share selectively — Consider sharing with your partner, coach, or trusted advisor
  4. Let it pull you — Don't force the path. Let the clarity help you recognize opportunities
  5. Stay flexible — The vision is a compass, not a GPS

Reality Check

Is this truly my vision, or someone else's expectation?

Am I willing to do what it takes to create this?

What would I need to give up to have this?

What is the first step toward this vision that I could take this week?
